 Living Along the British Coast

Bristish Coast

TO all aliens who wish to live along the British coast, you better watch out. There is an impending proposal that all areas nearest the shore are to be considered right of way. To those who are currently living along the British coast, which are of course, by the thousands, even millions are facing expropriation of their property. But this also may not be feasible. The government and other think tanks are also afraid that paying these residents living along the British coast may end in the sharp decline of real properties value all across the country and not just along the British coast itself. This is definitely a tragedy waiting to happen.

It is not just the government and its consulting firms who are apprehensive. The general public itself has voiced concern that the fall of real properties value would also create safety and security problems among the settlers living along the British coast. Other individuals and entities have also said that creating the right of way along the British coast would result to damages in the environment because of the creation of high end resorts there. This may just only be the voice of a few environmentalists but they are also considered large lobbyists here in Britain. Thus, the British government is really that cautious in pushing this proposal forward.

Besides, residents living along the British coast have started banding themselves and creating branches of their organization all over the country just so this proposal would never come to fruition. It is suggested that the settlers living along the British coast talk to their respective local government officials first before doing any action. Politicians as they are, these local government officials are pretty sure to have a compromise and even echo the sentiment of these settlers living along the British coast back to the central government in London. One of the possible topics to be discussed in these small yet important meetings is to provide alternative sites for the right of way. The landowners themselves must have the say about similar proposals in the future since they’re the ones who know more where a right of way should be placed without harming anyone’s feeling. Another thing that the government can do is to study more existing legislation and think whether another right of way is really feasible at this point. Strictly enforcing already existing laws is one way to eliminate this headache and everybody – from the government to the passersby to the residents – will certainly be happy.

Either way, I’m sure an alien who is eyeing British real property will be happy. If Sting is whining that he’s an illegal Englishman in New York, you can be a happy alien in Britain. Should this proposal be greenlighted, lots of high end beach resorts will sprout across the British coasts for the next ten years. You may not be able to acquire a property that is close to the shore but you can party all you want as if you’re in Ibiza once this concept is realized.
